Who we are… 

 

The Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. This 114-year-old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of over $70 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams:  the 15-day annual summer Fair and winter Fair which average more than 700,000 people annually, Playland amusement park which welcomes 400,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, and a busy year-round portfolio of events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events.  In total we bring over 2 million people through the site each year. The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance.  The PNE is proud of the work it does at Hastings Park and has a vibrant team that is passionate about events, guest experience and delivering memorable experiences.

Back this year at our Winter Fair is Discover Santa, a children’s interactive journey with six stations ending with an interaction with the man himself.  The PNE is looking for fun folks with a love for the North Pole and all things Santa Clause!  

 

We are looking for talented individuals to join our Fair and Festivals Operations Production Team to help create and immerse our guests into Santa’s Workshop! These actors will work under the direction of the Event Manager, Fair and Festival Operations and will dress up in costume and be given a station to run. Cast members will be provided with training on all stations.  Call time will be 3:30pm – 10:30pm.

What will you do this year?

 

In your role as an Actor, your primary accountabilities will be to:

  • Maintain performance standards at the highest level of professional expectations.
  • Always maintain a positive rapport with guests and staff.
  • Assist in maintaining a fully immersive environment for guests.
  • Use full body movement, speech, and gestures to entertain guests within the attraction.
  • Provide an entertaining and safe experience for all guests.
  • Provide professional guest service, and work with guests of all ages.
  • Work well in a fast-paced environment.

 

What else?

  • Completion of Grade 11 by December 5, 2024 is required.
  • Current related Acting experience or education, including a high school drama program.
  • Previous theatre background an asset.
  • Ability to wear a costume (including face paint, latex, silicon and/or make-up).
  • Ability to spend a large part of the workday walking and standing.
  • Ability to function both independently and in a team environment.
  • Love of Christmas and the holiday season considered an asset.
  • Good communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
