We are looking for a diligent and talented individual to join our PNE Public Safety Team and help us maintain a safe environment for all guests and team members. Site Security Officers of the Public safety Team will work under the direction of the Manager, Public Safety. What will you do this year? 

In your role as a Site Security Officer your primary accountabilities will be to: 

 

  • Responsible for the protection of PNE assets from damage or loss due to fire, theft, vandalism, and weather 
  • Conduct rounds in and around buildings, rides, shops, lots, roadways and yards 
  • Secure and unsecure buildings as required 
  • Conduct both mobile and extensive foot patrols across the site. Responsible for scanning over 50 NFC checkpoints per shift to ensure thorough security and monitoring of all areas. 
  • Use electronic scanners, CCTV, access control equipment, computers and other portable devices to ensure the security of the site 
  • Conduct hazard assessments and equipment inspections 
  • Maintain detailed records and reports of all activities 
  • Document and report site safety concerns 
  • Investigate and document building alarms 
  • Maintain roadways and parking lot safety, ensuring parking barriers and other traffic control measures are deployed appropriately   
  • Deploying parking barriers and other traffic control systems as required 
  • Provide security escorts for PNE assets   
  • Provide security for staff working on-site 
  • Provide emergency First Aid 
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment 
  • Ensure PNE Uniform and Appearance policy is adhered to at all times 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned  
  • Complete daily vehicle inspections in an accurate and timely matter and report deficiencies 

 

What else? 

  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently 
  • Must be bondable 
  • Must hold a valid Security license and a willingness to obtain AST 
  • Minimum Level I Occupational First Aid Certification, or equivalent 
  • Must be available to work various shifts, including evenings, graveyards and weekends.  
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to follow corporate and department policies and procedures 
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to reliably attend work without lateness or attendance issues 
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy and flexibility to work effectively with management, staff, contractors and the public 
  • Must have a valid class 5 BC Driver’s License and will be required to provide an up-to-date Driver’s Abstract confirming a clean driving record 
  • Must have basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, etc. 
  • Thorough knowledge of physical layout of all PNE parking facilities and gate locations is considered an asset 
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, nights and weekends. 
  • Successful candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check.
